Describe what would happen to human *** cells (sperm and egg) if they were not formed by meiosis, but instead, formed by mitosis. How many chromosomes would each s** cell have? How would this affect fertilization and the newly formed cell

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Normally, meiosis causes each parent to give 23 chromosomes to a pregnancy.  When a sperm fertilizes an egg, the union leads to a baby with 46 chromosomes.

But if meiosis doesn’t happen normally, a baby may have an extra chromosome (trisomy), or have a missing chromosome (monosomy). These problems can cause pregnancy loss.

Mitosisis the dividing of all other cells in the body. It’s how a baby in the womb grows. Mitosis causes the number of chromosomes to double to 92, and then split in half back to 46. This process repeats constantly in the cells as the baby grows. Mitosis continues throughout your lifetime. It replaces skin cells, blood cells, and other types of cells that are damaged or naturally die.

During pregnancy, an error in mitosis can occur. If the chromosomes don’t split into equal halves, the new cells can have an extra chromosome (47 total) or have a missing chromosome (45 total).

If gametes were produced instead by mitosis each gamete would be diploid not haploid. During fertilization of diploid gametes, the zygote would become 4n=92. With each new generation the number of chromosomes would double.

Answers

If there is a change in a squid's messenger RNA, this change does not appear in its genetic material. This change neither will be inherited by its offspring.

What is messenger RNA?

During gene transcription, a fragment of DNA called gene is used as template to generate a messenger RNA (mRNA).

Subsequently, this mRNA is used as a template to create a protein by a process known as translation.

The mRNA is a molecule that carries the genetic material from DNA to protein but this process does not modify the genetic material.

Non-living physical and chemical elements in the ecosystem are referred to as abiotic factors. Typically, abiotic resources are obtained from the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere [e.g. water, aer, soil, sunlight, and minerals].

Biotic factors are organisms that are alive or were onse alive in an ecosystem. These are obtained from the biosphere and have the ability to reproduce [animals, birds, plants, fungi, and other identical organisms].

How are the bodies of the three animals similar to one another? How are they different?

Answers

Answer:

How are animals similar? All animals are made of many cells. Most animals can move on their own. Like all living things, animals grow, change, reproduce, and respond to their environment.

Animals are made up of several cells. Most animals have independent movement. Animals develop, transform, reproduce, and react to their surroundings like all other living creatures do.

What are considered as animals?

Any eukaryotic multicellular organism of the biological kingdom Animalia is referred to as an animal.

The majority of creatures in this kingdom lack a cell wall, are heterotrophic, motile, have specialised sensory organs, and originate from blastulae during embryonic development.

According to some, the fundamental distinctions between humans and other animal species are our capacity for complex reasoning, our use of complex language.

Also, the capacity for problem-solving, and the capacity for introspection (this means describing your own thoughts and feelings).

Answers

Pea plants can have yellow seeds as the meaning of y is correct if the allele combination yy is for yellow seeds are yellow and dominant.

This question involves a seed color gene, which has two alleles Y and y. Y, which represents the dominant allele codes for the YELLOW trait while y which represents the recessive allele codes for the GREEN trait. Therefore, a plant with Yy will have YELLOW SEEDS because the dominant Y allele is present.

What are two alleles?

Gregor Mendel has stated that a gene comes with two alleles. According to his law of dominance, one of the alleles called the DOMINANT allele is capable of masking the phenotypic expression of another allele called the RECESSIVE allele.
